De Montfort University – Fletcher Building Restaurant, Kitchen and Dining Hall
This project comprised of the installation of fully in-house designed mechanical services in a new restaurant and catering facility, which formed part of the major development of the Fletcher Building, and was developed to cater for the needs of the students and staff at the expanding DMU city campus.
Our mechanical services installations consisted of a number of ventilation systems serving the Kitchen and Restaurant Areas via two new air handling units installed upon the external plant deck with the large unit providing tempered supply and extract ventilation to the Restaurant area of the complex, and the smaller air handling unit providing make up air to the Kitchen preparation area.
There are three main extract canopies within the Kitchen preparation area and each of these systems has a dedicated extract system with extract fans located within the suspended ceiling void. The Restaurant is served by DX heat pump systems units providing heating and cooling to the space.
The existing LPHW system was used and extended to serve heater batteries within the two air handling units on the roof deck. Domestic Water Services installation including a gas fired water heater, above ground drainage, and a BMS control systems for the new plant serving the Kitchen / Restaurant linking back to the existing site network.
