De Montfort University – Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre
The project comprised the design and build of the Mechanical Services systems serving the new leisure centre, including a 25 metre, six lane swimming pool for De Montfort University on Duns Lane, Leicester.
Our Mechanical Services installation consisted of new heating services generated by gas fired boilers and a roof mounted air source heat pump, serving CT circuits to plant such as the air handling units, duct mounted heater batteries and the swimming pool main heat exchanger. VT circuits were also installed to serve various underfloor heating circuits, radiators and various pipe coils.
New VRV air conditioning systems were installed to maintain comfort levels within the fitness suite and administration offices.
Supply, extract and heat recovery ventilation systems were provided via three large bespoke air handling units to serve the swimming pool, fitness suite and general circulation areas, along with dedicated local extract systems.
Within the Sports Hall, natural ventilation roof terminal systems were installed with gas fired tubular heaters to maintain the required temperature and conditions of the space.
As part of the domestic water services installation, hot, cold and booster water supplies were installed to serve all areas of the building, including the large changing room area. Hot water was generated via new plate heat exchangers. New above ground drainage and sanitary ware completed the domestic services installation.
A new Building Management Control System for all plant and equipment was provided and linked to the existing campus infrastructure.
