Mellor Bromley are delighted to have secured the Mechanical Services package for another Department for Education project in Birmingham. 

This facility will be provided for the Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) and will specialise in stage and screen / digital technologies with an approximate 8000 m² over three floors to cater for up to 900 attendees when fully up and running. It will include a range of teaching spaces including classrooms, ICT rooms and science laboratories, as well as a library, sixth form and associated offices. There are also external plans for a multi-use games area.

This project which sees us working for Kiers and we are delighted to restart our working relationship with them once again.

The Mechanical Services installation consists of new gas pipework, heating with new boilers and associated plant, radiators, a mixture of VRF and split type Air conditioning systems, hot and cold water services, mechanical ventilation by means of mounted heat recovery units, hybrid systems and natural ventilation. Also forming part of the works are BMS controls, sanitaryware and above ground drainage systems.

The project has been let to us on a design and build basis, with a contract value of approximately £800k. The project is due for completion in October 2021.
