Nottingham Trent University – Clifton Campus, New Energy Centre
As part of the Nottingham Trent University’s continued commitment in reducing their carbon footprint, Mellor Bromley were employed as Main Contractor to carry out the construction of their new Energy Centre, serving a large part of the Clifton Campus infrastructure.
Works comprised the construction of the new Energy Centre building structure itself and all new Mechanical and Electrical Services within.
The Mechanical Services elements of the contract involved the installation of two gas fired Ideal Arizona boilers (1.3 megawatt each), to operate in conjunction with two new Bosch CE365 NA Combined Heat & Power Units (CHP). This CHP package represented Bosch’s largest UK installation to date and a flagship project for their portfolio.
Externally a 50,000 litre buffer vessel, Dry Air Coolers and associated services were installed to complete the CHP package.
Along with all associated pipework services, flue systems, natural gas services and BMS Controls, a full electrical package formed part of the contract, comprising of new power, lighting, switchgear, security and data.
