Works comprised of a complete isolation, strip out and removal of all existing services within the Main East Tower Plant Room, followed by the installation of five high efficiency gas fired Hoval boilers with a combined heat output of 5 megawatts. In addition to the boiler plant, a new gas fired 240kW Bosch combined heat and power unit (CHP) was installed complete with 3 No. 7500 litre buffer vessels as well as new gas fired hot water heaters, circulating pumps, spill tank / pressurisation unit and industrial scale interconnecting heating, gas and domestic water pipework services.

New flue systems were installed from the gas fired plant, rising through the high-rise East Tower building and terminating at roof level. As part of the contract all associated electrical and builders work modifications were carried out and the existing Building Management Controls system was upgraded and replaced to provide full automatic operation of the plant.

The project was completed on time and within the Client’s budget.
