Mellor Bromley are absolutely delighted to have secured this project directly for the school.

The contract was tendered in competition and was awarded to us on a design and build basis, based upon our price, presentation and reference recommendations.

This will be a challenging project, and with an imminent start on the site required, the system design will be carried out internally by our own engineers.

The project involves the complete overhaul of the old, ageing heating system throughout the school and includes the replacement of several basement boiler houses, complete strip and replacement of the majority of the existing mains and distribution pipework, asbestos removal, re-decoration and the installation of new heat emitters in the form of radiators and fan convectors.

A new BMS control system will be provided throughout.

Pipework is to be installed in traditional screwed / welded steel within the boiler houses and stainless steel crimped systems will be utilised for the new distribution pipework throughout the school.

All of the work is being carried out within a live school environment, with a requirement to maintain the heating system within the winter months and to cause minimum disruption to the school and pupils.

The project begins in October 2018 and runs until late summer 2019, with a project value of approximately £1 million.
