Mellor Bromley have been successful in securing this exciting new project, won competitively within the education sector.

The project is to provide a new two storey Engineering Manufacturing and Technology Centre (EMAT) at Boston College.

The Mechanical Services package comes as further repeat business from Main Contractor, Robert Woodhead Construction, coupled with a design by Mechanical Services Consultant’s, Couch Perry Wilkes, Nottingham.

The new services will include external gas and water utility services, LPHW heating services fed from gas fired boilers to serve both radiators and radiant panels, roof mounted air handling plant, high efficiency heat recovery units serving high occupancy teaching areas, various toilet extract systems, VRF air conditioning systems, domestic water services, BMS controls, compressed air to the workshops and specialist exhaust systems from the forging and furnishing areas.

Due to the coastal location of the project, all main plant items such as external condensers and air handling plant will have a special coating applied, to protect them within the saline environment.

The project has been carefully value engineered to drive down costs, whilst still providing the client with a compliant solution for the scheme.

The project has been let to us on a Design & Build basis, with an approximate value of £500,000 and begins in early 2019, with completion due in late October 2019.
